Sustainable Tourism Mauritius Awards 2022
Welcome to the first Sustainable Tourism Mauritius Awards 2022!
More than ever, role models are needed who can drive change forward and use the crisis as an opportunity for real transformation. This Awards Ceremony will recognise the safest and most sustainable stakeholders in the tourism and hospitality industry, as well as local SMEs, rewarding the genuine efforts to change for the better. These businesses benefit local people, support cultural diversity, and advance biodiversity conservation, all within a viable and profitable business model.
Our winners will be providers who have kept sight of their aspirational, actionable sustainability goals while also being instrumental in COVID-19 crisis recovery and prioritising the health of tourists, consumers, and staff.
Winners and highly commended will be recognised during our Awards Ceremony on Thursday 5th May 2022.
Registration is open to all entrants (individuals or organisations) and available categories are:
- Hotel/Accommodation
- Tour Operator/Tour Guide
- Boat & Pleasure Craft Operator
- Handicraft & Local Products
- Other Businesses (Taxis, SMEs, Tourist Attractions, Restaurants, etc.)
Deadline for registration: 8th April 2022
Eligibility Criteria:
- Deadline for submission of registration: Friday 8th April 2022 at 16h00.
- Participants should have a valid operating Licence.
- Participants should fill the mandatory fields* in the application form.
Process:
- Registration will close on 8th April 2022.
- Selected nominees will be informed by 15th April 2022, followed by scheduled on-site visits.

Improving Sustainaible Tourism In Mauritius through Greening the Value Chain of Tour Operators (SUS-ISLAND) is a Switch Africa grand project funded by the European Commission and led by Mauritius Tourism Authority. Its objective is to promote sustainaible tourism in Mauritius by demonstration and scaling up a self-sustaining mechanism for improving sustainaibility impacts along the value chain improving awareness and market of sustainaible tourism products.
